Make-A-Wish® Foundation (S) Ltd
Since our inception in 2002, we have granted over 1,300 magical wishes. Due to our IPC status, the Foundation’s funds are used solely for Singaporeans or children permanently residing (PR) in Singapore.
Intended use of funds through the YFC 2018 programme
All funds raised would go towards granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The beneficiaries, aged between 3 and 18 years old come with critical medical conditions such as brain tumours, leukemia & other cancers, heart disease, cerebral palsy, kidney failure and muscular dystrophy. Each wish is specially tailored and customized for the child to make it a healing and memorable experience for him/her and the family, be it a wish of mobility (very customized wheelchairs to suit the contour and movement of our beneficiaries and to grow with them), a travel wish (the experience is bespoke and tailored to bring a cherished and personalised memorable trip), or a wish of communication (e.g. to connect to the world using technology, communication tools), etc. The list of wishes is matched by the energy and passion of the wish granters.
As a non-profit organisation, we are constantly seeking to raise more funds so that we can grant 10-11 wishes each month and meet our goal of reaching every medically eligible child in Singapore. As a member of NCSS, we adhere to their governance fundraising guidelines. In 2008-2010, we were recognised to be one of 25% charities in Singapore that has complied 100% with these guidelines.
