Calvary Community Care
Registered in March 2010, Calvary Community Care (C3) is a not-for-profit voluntary welfare organization that seeks to serve the needy in the community regardless of race, age, gender or religion. Our core values are charity, compassion and care. C3 seeks to be a respected charity serving the needy out of love for them relating to them holistically as individuals.
For children, our focus is on literacy. We have different literacy support programmes for preschoolers and primary 1s and 2s.
We also run community-based and school-based drop-in centres where we befriend and mentor youths, meaningfully engage them after school. Most of them are lower-secondary school students from the NA/NT stream.
For elderly, we do befriending to socially isolated elderlies and also organize many active aging programmes to keep our elderly members socially and mentally active.
Intended use of funds through the YFC 2018 programme
We are expanding our work, especially for youth and elderly. Funds raised would be used to support new programmes. C3 also needs more awareness as an organization, this will help us recruit more volunteers and also attract donors who can give and help support our cause.
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
We would definitely invite them over to our office, share about what we do, allow them to have contact with our beneficiaries.
Depending on which area of interest are of the YFC team, we can plan and arrange accordingly. We can even share with them the problems we currently face in those areas and discuss on possible ways to improve together.
