Sian Chay Medical Institution
Sian Chay Medical Institution(SCMI) is a voluntary welfare organization(VWO) with an approved Institution of a Public Character(IPC) registered with the Ministry of Health(MOH).
Sian Chay Medical Institution provides free Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation , subsidized medication and treatments to the community regardless of race or religion.
Currently, Sian Chay Medical Institution has a network of 12 TCM clinics and 4 wellness centres located in the HDB estates to support the elderly and needy residents who are less mobile and staying far away to seek timely consultation and treatment at their convenience. We plan to open 3 new branches at Punggol North, Moulmein-Cairnhill and Gambas in 2017 to serve even more elderly and needy residents in Singapore.
We projected to handle 505,000 patient visits comprising 270,000 TCM cases, 165,000 acupuncture treatments and 70,000 tuina therapy session as well as dispensed 1,000,000 dosages of prescription.
To sustain the above operations, we need an annual operating budget of million.
Sian Chay Medical Institution established the Pioneer Generation Medical Fund(PGMF) with the generous donation of ,000,000 from Lee Foundation in 2014. The Pioneer Generation Medical Fund fully subsidize the medical charges of the Pioneer Generation patients seeking TCM consultation and treatments at the Sian Chay TCM clinics. The million donation was able to subsidize 100,000 patient visits in 2016. Lee Foundation top up the PGMF with another million to support another 100,000 patient visits in 2017.
Sian Chay Medical Institution also entered into community partnership with two other Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) ; namely the Silver Ribbon (Singapore ) and RSVP (Singapore) to provide free healthcare for their clients and members.
