Student Advisory Centre
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2002, we are a full member of NCSS and an Institution of Public Character.
VISION & MISSION
To ensure that children, from low income families are supported through “alleviation of poverty” and helping to build a “foundation to escape the poverty trap.”
WHAT WE DO
? To alleviate poverty, we put food on the table and basic or critical needs at home. Each month, groceries go to 150 families. We help where other charities or government cannot. For example, a school principal called because his student had contracted head lice and cannot attend school. The family cannot afford fumigation and new mattresses. Or a boy who wishes for a mattress for his sick father to sleep on.
? To build foundation, we offer a study-and-play program where the little ones receive English and Math tuition on weekdays. To enjoy their childhood, Saturdays are spent on Sports/Robotics and Drama classes. For the older kids, Career GPS takes them to various companies to meet real life role models! When I was a kid, my mom brought me to Raffles Place. I told myself that I will work there. I did! I want kids to be as inspired.
