Description of Organization

Morning Star Community Services was formed in 1999 to enrich and strengthen family relationships. In line with this we run various programmes and services for individuals and families, including community and school-based before and after-school care services, and parent-equipping workshops.

Another programme is the NOVA Learning Intervention Programme for discouraged and under-achieving children at risk of dropping out of school. Morning Star provides individualised learning support and care to help the children cope with school and life. Their parents too are taught skills to support their children’s learning at home.

NOVA Kids attend daily sessions for up to three hours to receive intensive coaching and form good learning habits and life skills, such as decision-making and discipline. Such habits enable them to have a healthy self-esteem.

Morning Star became a member of the National Council of Social Service in 2003 and of Caritas Singapore in 2006.
