Description of Organization

Sian Chay Medical Institution is a voluntary welfare organization (VWO) with an Institute of a Public Character (IPC) registered with the Ministry of Health (MOH), providing
free Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation, subsidized medicine and treatment for the community regardless of race or religion.
Founded in 1901, Sian Chay Medical Institution has developed from a single clinic with 2 physicians and 2 TCM assistants serving a daily average of 26 patients into a network
of 15 branches with a staff strength of 130 physicians , therapists, TCM assistants and corporate staff serving a daily average of 1,200 patients.
In the past three and a half year, Sian Chay has served over 730,000 patient visits and dispensed over 1,560,000 dosages of prescription .It is forecasted that in the next five years (2018-2022) , Sian Chay will serve up to 2.5 million patient visits and dispensed 4.8 million dosages of prescription. Sian Chay needs an annual budget of million to sustain the operations and help more elderly and needy patients.

Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme

Funds raised will support the needy and elderly patients for their medication and treatments.
Every donation is able to help one patient from low income family to receive free TCM consultation , medication and treatment. This in turn helps the whole family to relieve from suffering and gain happiness, and fister a blissful family.

Engaging and involving the YFC participants

There will be an orientation for the YFC participants before they commence their fundraising projects. Feedback and mentoring for them will be regularly organized.
We will share with them the 5 core values , ” Forgiveness, Universal Love, Compassion, Gratitude , Blessing ” and beliefs , ” Nation Progresses, Family Prospers.
