Description of Organization
Very Special Arts (VSA) Singapore is a charity affiliated to the National Council of Social Service. VSA Singapore is launched by Patron and Singapore’s Ambassador-at-large, Professor Tommy Koh on 27 September 1993.
The mission of VSA Singapore is to create and provide access and opportunities for people with disabilities through the arts. To achieve this, VSA Singapore promotes the educational, social and rehabilitative benefits of visual, performing and literary arts; integrates individuals with disabilities into mainstream society through the arts, and assists them to obtain independence through arts and arts creations.

ALERT (Arts in Learning, Rehabilitation and Training) is a visual arts-based programme which encourages the creation of unique works through drawing, painting, and ceramics, as well as other traditional and innovative mediums and activities.

APEX (Arts for Performance and Expression) is a performing arts-based programme that offers a variety of courses and workshops in dance, music and drama, as well as excursions and performances.
The VOICES (Voice of Individual Creative Expressions) Programme aims to nurture the artistic ability of talented persons with special needs, as well as spur their development as visual artists, crafts professionals or performing artistes.

The ALIVE (Arts for Livelihood and Employment) Programme aims to offer lifelong learning and career opportunities for people with disabilities, as well as equipping them with the skills and confidence that will enable them to gain employment and financial independence.
