Description of Organization

Vision/Mission
To Be Outstanding in Providing Acceptance and Hope to People with Special Needs in Singapore through God’s Love

Objectives
The objectives of COH shall be to provide wholistic learning through recreational, social, Bible-based instructions and economic help to disabled people as a whole person and the family unit as the main building block of society. In furtherance of the above object, the Society shall: – (a) encourage and train volunteers to work with the disabled in the area of spiritual and physical education (b) operate facilities to minister to the needs of the disabled (c) cooperate, coordinate, complement and network with the recognized bodies, religious organizations, para-church groups, welfare agencies, government or private with the aim to meet its objective. (d) do all such things as are necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of the objects.

Social inclusion gives meaningful social connections and participating in fulfilling social activities to our clients. Participation in meaningful social activities has been demonstrated to have a significant positive impact on loneliness for people with intellectual disability.

 

Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme

As part of our programme for our beneficiaries will include Training in Community Living Skills, such as social skills, community mobility (using public facilities), community activities (include sports & games, performing arts, art & craft), home living (household chores).

We intended the use of fund for our beneficiaries in community activities, such as sport, games, performing arts, art & craft etc as mentioned in the above programme. Getting our beneficiaries

Getting YFC in Participation in meaningful social activities together with our beneficiaries. We had noticed through years among our beneficiaries that such inclusion demonstrated to have a significant positive impact on loneliness for people with intellectual disability. Many people with intellectual disability remain socially isolated, lonely, as thus your require support to access social inclusion with greater impact together.

 

Engaging and involving the YFC participants

We will invite them over to our centres, and to get them participate on the programme alongside with our beneficiaries.

The Emmanuel Activity Centres are located at 3 locations : Tampines and Toa Payoh.
Our day activity programmes are provided on weekdays (Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm). We provide a caring environment and work to to our beneficiaries.

To enhance the quality of life of our beneficiaries, our range of activities include:
1. Training in Activities of Daily Living covering personal grooming, feeding, mobility, toileting.

2. Training in Community Living Skills such as social skills, community mobility (using public facilities), community activities (include sports & games, performing arts, art & craft), home living (household chores).

3. Community Integration Projects

4. Holistic and spiritual development through Bible-based instructions and activities.

5. Giving the needed Physiotherapy to beneficiairies.
