Description of Organization
The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) is a voluntary organisation that has been serving the deaf and hard-of-hearing community in Singapore for the past six decades. Established in 1955, SADeaf serves more than 5,100 deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and provides a gamut of services such as sign language interpretation, note-taking, Deaf awareness workshops, employment support, counselling and financial assistance, and, sports and recreational activities. A member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Community Chest of Singapore, it is affiliated to the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). SADeaf’s mission is to assist the Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons to achieve a better quality of life and to enable them to integrate and contribute to society.
Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme
In order for SADeaf to continue serving the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing community, as some services are only partially funded by the Government, we have to raise funds to support our annual operating expenses.
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
Welcome the YFC team to visit the association as well as they can plan some programme to interact with our affiliated school trainees.
