MWS Bethany Nursing Home – Choa Chu Kang
MWS Bethany Nursing Home – Choa Chu Kang is a service arm under the Methodist Welfare Services. Established in 2001, MWS Bethany Nursing Home strives to be an oasis of love and care for the chronically ill, frail and elderly Residents. With many of our Residents coming from low-income families, it is our mission to enrich the quality of life for the disadvantaged and distressed, through integrated and holistic services in partnership with the community.
Our Nursing Home has 5 residences with a total bed capacity of 303. Majority of our Residents are wheelchair-bound and bed-bound. They require high level of nursing care and rehabilitation. Our multi-disciplinary team provides a spectrum of quality professional services including medical, nursing and dental care, occupational and physio-therapies, social support as well as recreational activities.
Intended use of funds through the YFC 2019 programme
MWS Bethany Nursing Home is embarking on care remodeling for 2018.
Our key focus will be on Person-centered care and Resident-directed living.
The funds raised will be channeled towards the establishment of family units and the enhancement of dementia-friendly capabilities and amenities. The next step of expansion will be the engagement and integration of our Residents and services with the wider community.
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
YFC Participants are our valued partners in fulfilling the mission of our Nursing Home.
A specially customised induction programme will be organised for our partners. The programme entails an orientation, a site tour and a short experiential activity with our Residents. Through the programme, our partners will have a chance to interact with our Residents and form a deeper understanding of the services and needs of our Nursing Home.
