St John’s Home for Elderly Persons
Description of Organization
Established in December 1958, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is a Sheltered Home for elderly persons who are ambulant and aged above 60. Our Mission is to provide shelter and care to meet the physical and spiritual needs of elderly persons who have no home and no children or close relatives with adequate resources to care for them. The Home is open to all regardless of race or creed.
Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme
The funds raised will be contributed to a holistic programme taking of the Mind, Body and Spirit of the elderly residents under our care. Some examples of the programmes include singing sessions, outings, cookery sessions. These activities will help our residents to stay active and healthy.
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
“Our Home will conduct orientations to the YFC participants for a better understanding of our Home and elderly community to aid you in carrying out the fundraising initiatives. A representative from St John’s Home will provide guidance and support throughout the project implementation.
The students are also welcomed to interact and befriend our elderly to have a better understanding of the needs of our elderly residents.
At the end of the project, we are more than glad to provide acknowledgement letters or testimonials for the participants.
