Description of Organization

“Established in December 1958, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons is a Sheltered Home for elderly persons who are ambulant and aged above 60. We are a Registered Charity and an Institution of a Public Character (IPC).

Our Mission is to provide shelter and care to meet the physical and spiritual needs of elderly persons who have no home and no children or close relatives with adequate resources to care for them.

The Home is open to all regardless of race or creed.”

Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme

The funds raised through the programme will help to support the essential needs of taking care of the elderly residents at St John’s Home. The funds will help us to provide accommodation, food, healthcare, physiotherapy and activities for our vulnerable seniors.

Engaging and involving the YFC participants

“Our Home will conduct orientations to the YFC participants for a better understanding of our Home and elderly community to aid you in carrying out the fundraising initiatives. A representative from St John’s Home will provide guidance and support throughout the project implementation.

The students are also welcome to interact and befriend our elderly to have a better understanding of the needs of our elderly residents.

At the end of the project, we are more than glad to provide acknowledgement letters or testimonials for the participants.
