Description of Organization
“Bartley Community Care Services (BCCS) Limited is a charity with an IPC status serving the low-income and underprivileged community covering the whole spectrum of ages. BCCS seeks to bring hope and restore dignity to those caught in a web of inextricable woes – children and youths from disadvantaged background, socially isolated seniors, struggling families and individuals, through holistic support, emotional, financial and practical help.
Our Mission: Touching Hearts, Building Lives.
Our Vision: To see individuals and families in need transformed, enabling them to reach their potential so that they can enjoy meaningful lives and contribute to society.
The unmet needs though not always obvious are aplenty out there amongst our beneficiaries. Our core programmes include:
1. Fun with Phonics for K1 and K2 children who lagged behind their peers
2. Tuition@Bartley Programme for P1 to Sec 5 students
3. Developing Young Leaders Programme
4. Active-Ageing Programmes: We reach out to seniors staying at Lorong Lew Lian and MacPherson area through befriending services and regular active-ageing activities; recreational activities at our Hope Centre@31 Balam Road and festive celebrations.
5.HOPE Program: We offer support and practical help to individuals and families going through dire circumstances.”
Intended use of funds through the YFC programme
“Funds raised will be utilised for our aid programmes (children, seniors and families) and operational expenses.
We have plans to increase the frequency of our phonics classes as well as active ageing and recreational activities at our centre. We appreciate funding resources and publicity support to help increase our organisation’s visibility. ”
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
We would invite our new volunteers to get to know them and orientate them to get to know BCCS better. YFC Teams can visit our centre and speak with programme staff to better understand how our work benefit the community. We would encourage them to participate in some of our regular programmes and/or other planned activities for our beneficiaries during the period.
