Description of Organization

“Beginning in 2000, New Life Community Services has been the social arm for Covenant Evangelical Free Church (CEFC). As an organisation, our mission seeks to bring hope and purpose to children, youths and seniors so that they can bring about a positive impact in their own communities.

Over the years, New Life has continuously strived to serve the community through these core services & programmes:

1) Childcare Services & centres – To support new families in the communities
2) Steady Readers – A literacy intervention programme that aims to support children who are reading below their literacy levels
3) Student Care Centres – An after-school care service that strives to promote positive social values in the children
4) Youth Hubs & Programmes – The youth hubs provide a safe environment for youths to grow positive relationships, and to build up on resilience.
5) Casework & Counselling Services – To support the community through counselling and Financial Support Services
6) Silvercare – To empower seniors by building up their self-worth through programmes and community support.

New Life Community Servies also partners with community volunteers from different learning institutions, to empower them with new opportunities to make a positive impact in the community too. ”

Intended use of funds through the YFC 2023 programme

“Funds obtained from YFC 2024 will be used solely to fund a series of programmes organised by Project Helios. The programme are targeted at building up Social-Emotional resilience for the beneficiaries involved.

New Life Student Care (Woodlands) would be their chosen centre for their programmes – as a After-school centre, we aim to provide learning opportunities for the children to learn outside their academic curriculum. Our centre also focuses on their Socio-Emotional Development, with the provision of programmes & activities. Through the funding, Project Helios will be able to expand their own resources to create a programme that is purposeful towards the SEL direction. ”
