Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE Singapore)
|
Description of Organization
CARE Singapore exists to help vulnerable young people find direction, hope and success. CARE Singapore is dedicated to empowering at-risk youths through programmes that focus on Positive Youth Development (PYD).
Taking a strengths-based approach, CARE delivers life-skills instruction, counselling therapy, motivational thrust, socio-emotional support, family engagement, parent support and leadership development. CARE’s professional counsellors and youth workers, together with volunteers, facilitate life changing experiences through positive relationships and mindset shifts.
Beyond the school, CARE runs a national WhatsApp based hotline “Hear4U” offering psychological support to all who require help.
Intended use of funds through the YFC programme
We would use it for new programmes to increase interaction and benefits through parent-child focused activities.
Engaging and involving the YFC participants
We can organise an in-person sharing session at the CARE Singapore office, where we will introduce the YFC Team to our organisation’s work and provide an overview of the impact we have on the communities we serve. This will also be an opportunity to hear their thoughts, feedback, and ideas, which will help ensure that their involvement aligns with our vision and mission. By fostering an open dialogue, we can build a stronger connection and commitment to the cause.
Furthermore, where applicable and relevant, we can arrange for the YFC Team to visit the field, allowing them to see the work being carried out by our Social Workers and Youth Workers. This experience will provide them with a deeper understanding of the challenges and the direct impact of our programmes. The field visit would be an immersive way for them to engage with the mission of CARE Singapore, ultimately inspiring a stronger sense of purpose and dedication to the work we do.
